TIP 2 - Thwart a would-be Vehicle Entry

If you've heard that some cars can be unlocked through use of a device easily available over the Web...and you're worried yours might be one of them, here's a couple of ideas to reduce your chance of being a victim.

Apparently, when nearby, these devices can intercept the "handshake" signal transmitted by your key fob and store it for reuse to unlock the car door later. So, lock your car using the manual lock switch inside the door as you exit...then there's no signal to intercept. As well, thieves hate bright lights. Install LED bulbs in driveway and porch lights, then leave them on ALL night.
